This post may contain nonsequiters and other signs of being a stream of consciousness relationship with context than a carefully structured advertisement for an attractive new urban crime novel.
The novel shown on the left can be purchased directly using http://sbpra.com/miriampia/ . Not only did I write it and edit it at least 7 times, but it is finally for sale in a respectable form. I have touched it and can confirm that if you buy it I know what you will be getting. I am actually quite proud of it, as it is my first published novel. I wrote it after working as a professional writer for a while, mostly as a ghostwriter working from home while living in the same big city that the novel is set in: Indianapolis.
Everyone who lives or has visited Indianapolis that not everyone there has the same color skin. This doesn’t need to be a problem but some – and luckily only some, of the people who live there make a drama of a small matter like that. There are characters of more than one so-called “race” in the story. Which ones shows what it was really like there when the story was written and is not intended to insult those not represented in the story. Unlike too many stories prior to 1970, there are both good guys and bad guys of more than one color rather than color coding the good guys and bad guys.
Meanwhile, I have tried multiple times to get the blog out without the “shame” of showing that there is a domain name problem. What really happened is that I renewed but the system acted as if I had not. Then, what happened was that I got a new domain name and have asked that my blog be changed over to the new domain. I have requested this assistance at least 3 times but it did not come through for me. I am hoping that now it finally will.
I was mildly shocked the day – a couple of weeks ago now, when the Monster Trucks and a billboard of Captain America were both in a small German village at the same time that I was at the bank. I don’t find either shocking in the USA, nor their conjunction, but in real life in a village in Germany I was still shocked. That is how far into the Germans, aspects of American culture have reached.
Today in Germany, where I was, the weather has cooled but was intriguing compared what I used to be used to. Much of the day was completely overcast with grey rain clouds, but then there was a burst of rain. After that, fine blue skies, plenty of bright sunshine and a buoyant sensation.
Today, it crossed my mind that writers, like everyone else, are real people. I don’t like to only write nor to spend all my time this way or that way. I like some variety in my life even though I also like stability and security. People can be a joy or a trying experience – it just depends on so much else.
Who is reading ebooks these days? More people every day. Do you have a Kindle? If so, then you can use it to find a clever adventurous tale of how a city saves itself from itself – in a sense. Maybe you don’t think that way – a lot of the time, I don’t either. Every location has its own good and bad points. Every fiction story relies on something connected to reality in some way – the connection may be thin or weak, but it is still there.
Real life is about team work despite how competitive life can be. That truth is high lighted in An Adventure in Indianapolis aka The Double Life of Tutweiler Buckhead. Those who like group efforts will enjoy the unconventional approach in this novel. There is not just one sleuth. It really takes all 4 people to solve the crime, and they are working with others.
