Knowing One’s Limits

Part of life is learning where one’s own limits are as well as the limits of the social environment.  Everyone has both strengths and weaknesses.  Recently I have learned more about my own limits.

Intimacy is always a challenge as people do not all agree and have different personal limitations and tolerances – including some variations of conscience.   One prime example is determing when to be more loyal to friendship or familial love or to be more loyal to laws of the land or religious beliefs or to money, sources of income and the like.  Every individual has to deal with these things, like it or not.  No matter what we decide, we will always please some and displease others.

As Jimminy Crickett sang, “Always let your conscience be your guide.”  In truth, that does not mean we will all make the same decision.
